Naftalan sulfur cream

Description

Composition and dosage form: 25 mg.
Petrolatum, Unguentum sulfuratum simplex, Paraffin.

Characteristics:
Naftalan cream with sulfur can be used as monotherapy, as well as in combination with topical hormonal preparations. To achieve a stable result in a number of pathological processes, course-based and systematic use is necessary. Does not contain hormones or colorants.

Properties of the components:
The complex therapeutic effect of Naftalan cream with sulfur is обусловлено (due to) the components included in its composition: Naftalan oil is a natural Naftalan oil purified from resinous compounds, which has pronounced anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, antibacterial, desensitizing, analgesic effects, improves microcirculation, increases the intensity of metabolic processes, and stimulates the trophic functions of the skin.

Precipitated sulfur – When applied externally, it acts similarly to purified sulfur. Precipitated sulfur is more active and better absorbed (especially in pork fat) than purified sulfur. It has mild antimicrobial, antiparasitic, resolving in low concentrations (up to 5-8%), anti-inflammatory, anti-itch, keratoplastic effects; in higher concentrations – drying, irritating, and keratolytic effects. The keratoplastic effect of sulfur is more pronounced when yellow petrolatum is used as a base. After oral administration, it is excreted mainly through the intestines unchanged. Prescribed externally in the treatment of scabies, dermatitis, trichophytosis, microsporia, eczema, seborrhea, and other skin diseases in the form of ointments (5, 10, 20%), liniments, dusting powders, and powders.

Thus, the components included in Naftalan cream with sulfur have pronounced mild antimicrobial, antiparasitic, resolving in low concentrations (up to 5–8%), anti-inflammatory, anti-itch, keratoplastic effects; in higher concentrations – drying, irritating, and keratolytic effects, promote the restoration of affected skin, and enhance the regenerative and barrier functions of the skin.

Contraindications:
Individual intolerance to the components of the product.
Do not use in children under 14 years of age.
